Greetings,
My name is Lt. Carl Dabadie of the Baton Rouge Police Department and President of the Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Championships. I would like to formally invite you to spend four days of fun, excitement, and learning advanced Motorcycle operation in the Deep South. This years competition will have challenging courses, motor survival techniques, and advanced turning and braking seminars. Not to mention all the best food and hospitality you could ask for! The menu will include Jambalaya, (Gonzales is the Jambalaya Capital of the world), Bar-B-Que rib roast , a Cuchon de lait (roasted Pig), A Louisiana Fish and Shrimp Fry, and a Rib eye steak dinner at the banquet. This years competition will be October 16-20, 2012, at Cabelas in Gonzales
This yeas event will include a challenge course, partner ride, individual slow ride, Team slow ride, and of course the individual skills run. We will have vendors from, Harley Davidson, Police One, PVP communications, Setcom, Seer Helmets, Stalker Radar, Moto Light, and numerous Police Specialty organizations. The Officers that attend will gain skills and confidence in motorcycle control, safety and survival during high risk stops. It has been proven that departments that participate in Motorcycle skills competitions reduce the number and severity of accidents in their departments.
The real winners will be the kids of St. Jude Childrens Hospital. All proceeds will be donated to the Dream Day Foundation, whose sole function is to raise money for St. Jude Childrens Hospital. The Dream Day volunteers are people like you and me who volunteer their time to help in events like this competition raising money for St Jude. Without the tireless efforts of these volunteers this event could never happen. This years competition will be our 14th and we would like it to be our best. Last year we had 158 riders from 9 states and 35 departments, which was our biggest ever. So what are you waiting for, make plans to come to the heart of Cajun country and enjoy our hospitality, learn Motorcycle Skills and techniques, but most of all give hope to the kids of St. Jude
If you would like more information please call 225-389-3886 or 225-389-3874.
