Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Championship

Benefiting the Dream Day Foundation, St. Jude's Hospital

March 4, 2008

Greetings,

My name is Sgt. Carl Dabadie of the Baton Rouge Police Department and this year's president of the Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Championship. I would like to formally invite you to spend four days of fun, excitement, and learning advanced Motorcycle operation in the Deep South . This year's rodeo will have challenging courses, survival seminars, advanced motorcycle operation seminars, and the best food and southern hospitality you could ask for. This year's competition will be held October 15-18, 2008 here in Baton Rouge .

There will be numerous events for all officers and family. We will have a swamp tour with dinner, Plantation Home tour for the ladies, a seafood fest dinner, and a banquet to conclude the event. There will be a Challenge course, individual slow ride, Team slow ride, Partner ride, and of course individual skills run. Vendors from Harley Davidson, Seer, Setcom, and numerous Police specialty organizations will be here.

The Officers that attend will gain skills in motorcycle control and safety. But the big winners will be the kids at St. Jude. All proceeds from this event will go to the Dream Day Foundation whose sole purpose is to raise money for the kids of St. Jude. The Dream Day volunteers are people like you and me who donate there spare time volunteering in events like this competition to help raise money for St. Jude. Without the tireless efforts of these volunteers this event could never happen.

This year's competition will mark our tenth anniversary and we would like this year's event to be the best. So we are starting early in getting the word out. There will be more to come as far as events and things to do and see. So make plans now to come to heart of Cajun country and enjoy our hospitality, learn advanced motorcycle skills and techniques, and most of all give some hope to the children of St. Jude.
